For over 57 years the Andree family has fueled the progress of Tompkins and surrounding counties. While keeping our minds set on providing the best customer service hasn’t been hard, keeping the business going hasn’t always been easy. In 1952, Robert W. Andree moved to Ithaca from Great Neck, NY where he grew up. He was the new commissioned agent for Sinclair Refining Company.
Bob proved to be an innovator in advertising his business form the start. One of his best methods made his customers see spots. Bob caught people’s eyes by painting his pick-up truck the same black and white spotted pattern as his Dalmatian dog, Sinney, who always rode with him.
In 1972, BP Oil made Bob a full distributor, and later that year he formed Robert W. Andree Incorporated.
In 1985, Robert W. Andree retired from the business, while his son, Robert P. Andree, took hold of the reins. A burner service department was established, and in 1986, the company started using the name Andree Petroleum. Next came a complete modernization of the storage facility, an upgrade to a fully computerized office and delivery system, and the introduction of the GASCARD system, a 24-hour automated fueling site.
Today, Andree provides our customers with fuel oil, kerosene, propane, and sales, service and installations of warm air furnaces, boilers and hot water heaters. Our customers know they can always call Andree, anytime, day or night. We’ve been serving Ithaca and the surrounding area for over 57 years. Andree Petroleum and Propane.
