Plenty of Downtown Projects in 2012

Downtown Ithaca is in store for a busy 2012.

Gary Ferguson of the Downtown Ithaca Alliance told the WHCU Morning Newswatch that work will begin this year on no less than five projects…..including a second tower at the Holiday Inn and increased conference space, the Breckenridge housing project on the site of the Women's Community Building and the Seneca Way mixed-use development at the former Challenge Industries location.

Early next month, Sasaki and Associates will return for additional public meetings on revised plans on a Commons redesign. They'll be held on March 1st and 3rd.

Ferguson says the city expects to have working drawings for shovel ready projects by the summer.
